Canadian Centre for Child Protection and family of missing 21-year-old Christine Wood issue plea for information

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection and the family of 21-year-old Christine Wood are issuing a public plea for anyone who may have information or who may have seen someone matching Christine’s description to come forward.

Christine has not been seen or heard from in two weeks, which is not typical for her. Christine’s family are deeply concerned for her safety and well-being and plea for the public’s help in finding her.

“As people head into the long weekend, we are asking them to keep Christine at top of mind. We need the public to help us find her — any information, no matter how small, could be that piece of information that helps bring her home to her family.” says Christy Dzikowicz, Canadian Centre for Child Protection’s Director of Missing Children Services.

Originally from Oxford House First Nation, Christine and her parents were in Winnipeg to accompany a family member to a medical appointment. On August 19^th, Christine, who was staying with family at a hotel in Winnipeg, went out for the evening. She never returned.

Christine is familiar with Winnipeg, having attended the University of Winnipeg this past year. Christine was last seen in the Polo Park area and is known to frequent the Osborne Village area. She is believed to be carrying a white purse. She is described as five-foot-six, average build with shoulder length dark brown hair.

If Christine is not located over the weekend, a press conference will be planned early next week.
