Ontarians Asked to Help Locate Two Missing Sisters, Ages 7 and 3

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection is making a plea to the public to help locate 7-year-old Asja Johnson and her sister 3-year-old Milan Johnson, who are believed to be in Ontario with their mother.

It is believed that in July 2014 the girls and their 11 and 13-year-old brothers were brought to Canada from the Bahamas by their mother Dazelle Johnson (née Gray). In June 2015, the boys were located and reunited with their father after they were left for a number of weeks with a new acquaintance of the mother in London, Ontario. The whereabouts of Asja and Milan is still unknown and their father, Michael Johnson, continues his desperate search for his daughters.

“My girls have been gone for a year and a half. Asja and Milan are so little — every day I worry about where they are, what they’re doing and wonder if they’re OK,” says Johnson. The public’s attention is needed in order to ensure the well-being of the little girls and their mom.

The boys, now safely back in the care of their dad, are also concerned. “It’s hard to explain to my sons where their sisters are,” says Johnson. “Sometimes they cry at night, and after they’re asleep, I cry too. All we want is for our family to be together at Christmas.”

“There are a number of reasons why we are becoming increasingly concerned for Asja and Milan’s well-being,” says Christy Dzikowicz, Director of the Child Safety and Family Advocacy Division of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. “The public’s assistance is critical in locating these missing girls. Look at their photos and watch for them when you’re out at the park, at church, at the grocery store — you could help bring this family back together.”
